To our foreign viewers:

In Sweden we have something called ”ordning och reda”. We cherish it above all else and without it, our lives would empty, grey and pointless. As a matter of fact, people who cannot keep enough of “ordning och reda” in their lives are required by the government to shoot themselves. Hence the suicide rates.

Anyway, to help us keep on the narrow road we have wonderful collection of ingenious laws, amongst them perhaps most noticeably the one about what car make you are allowed to choose. To put it simple: once your father has chosen a car, you are required by law to buy one exactly like it. This makes it wonderfully easy to keep track of things (that family drives Volvos, that Saabs, that one Volvos, etc. These are the only two brands allowed in Sweden, by the way. ).

We went to a family gathering yesterday, to congratulate my cousin and his wife to their newborn daughter, Elvira. No pics of her I´m afraid (just imagine a newborn, they pretty much all look the same, don´t they?), but above are the family cars. My father´s, my own, my brother´s and my cousin´s. We´re a bunch of law abiding folks, we are.

Kostcirkel 2.0

Kylskåpet gapar snart-ska-vi-åka-bort-tomt. I får banan och ett halvt paket kallrökt lax till frukost. Hon sprattlar av glädje, men hushållskassan gnyr en smula.
